New Medium
Kelly Dopp

Ten gallons’ worth of aesthetic design
Clear medium trick’ling into framed work.
Subjects alight with color swim in brine,
A painting without oil, what a quirk.

The waving kelp brush-stroked by filter’s flow
With flecks of river rocks on smooth’ed glass.
So like acrylic paint, although I know
That this will never dry, and always last.

Bright flashing tails of watercolors move
In an attempt to capture painted play
And still the subjects’ swimming, just to prove
The art is lost without the guppies’ sway.

Unable to be viewed in still graphic
A painting ever changing, not classic.
